Tourism Regulatory Authority (TRA) is a corporate body established under section 4 of the Tourism Act No.28 of 2011 and is mandated to regulate the tourism sector in Kenya.This entails developing regulations, standards and guidelines that are necessary to ensure an all-round quality service delivery in the tourism sector. Position Corporate Communication Officer

Job Description.

The Corporate Communications officer will support our internal and external communications strategy, write and disseminate publicity material, respond to inquiries from the public and the media and coordinate promotional events. Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:-

  • Preparing press material for press (print, electronic and social media) releases and publications;
  • Maintain, update, operate and handle the social media and interactive platforms such as the website,Facebook,twitter etc.
  • Assist in drafting of publication on topics/issues, authoring speeches and public reports;
  • Liaising with the public and the media on all matters of concern to the Authority;
  • Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the Authority as a distinctive brand and coordinate publicity events as required by the Board.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

For appointment to this position candidate must:

  • Be in possession of Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Mass Communications or Public Relations from a recognized institution; and
  • Be proficient in computer applications, including knowledge in desk top publishing, design and publishing software,content management systems, and social media platforms.
  • Demonstrate ability to articulate and implement organizational mandate, mission and vision;
  • Be Creative and innovative with excellent verbal ,written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have 3 years relevant experience.
Position Human Resource Officer

Job Description 

The Human Resources (HR) Officer will be responsible for varied HR aspects by being actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting advertisements and managing the hiring process, orientation and training of new staff members.They also assist with payroll management to ensure employees are paid on time. 

Duties and responsibilities will entail: –

Perform a variety of human resource management duties of limited scope and complexity under close supervision and guidance of a Senior Officer;

  • Process files for appointment, promotion and deployment;
  • Verify information relating to recruitment and, appointment;
  • Maintain human resource records and staff establishment;
  • Process cases for Human Resource and Administration Committee and assisting in the implementation of the resolutions made thereof.;
  • Supporting the development and implementation of various HR initiatives and systems.
  • Providing counseling on HR policies and procedures.
  • Liaison person between stakeholders and staff.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

For appointment to this position candidate must be in possession of: –

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent qualification in Human Resource Management or related field from a recognized Institution;
  • Be computer proficient in Computer applications or computer literacy certificate from a recognised institution.
  • Professional Registration certificate (added advantage)
Position Information Communication Technology Officer

Job Description

Duties and responsibilities at this level will include: –

  • Analysing, designing, coding, testing, implementing computer programs;
  • Providing user support, maintaining support systems and training of users;
  • Repairing and maintaining Information Communication Technology equipment and associated peripherals;
  • Receiving, installing and certifying of Information Communication Technology equipments; and
  • Configuring new Information communication technology equipments.
  • Maintenance and the updating of the Authority’s website and the application systems.
  • Assist users in the Active Directory, e-mail server and User applications;
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

For appointment to this grade,a candidate must:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in any of the following Computer Science, Information Technology or related field from a recognized Institution; and
  • Have a recognized professional certification in the field of ICT.
  • Professional certificate of registration (added advantage).
  • Have 3 years relevant experience.
Position Audit and Risk Management Officer

Job Description
An officer at this level will undertake a variety of auditing work of limited scope and complexity under the supervision of a senior staff.

Duties and responsibilities entail:-

  • Developing and implementing audit management systems;
    Preparing and implementing audit plans;
  • Carrying out risk assessment and assisting in development of risk management guidelines;
  • Undertaking specific audit assignments and prepare detailed audit observations and reports; and
  • Carrying out audit review of the accounting, financial and budgetary control systems.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

For appointment to this grade, an officer must:-

  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance option, business Administration,BBIT) and
  • Have the minimum of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) II Examination
  • Be proficient in wide and varied computer applications and systems;
  • Have 3 years relevant experience.
